Children need to have a lot of support and focus when they are studying, in order to ensure that they can get the best results possible for their skill levels. In average Australian schools, it is hard to get the right amount of educational care and attention that children need, simply because there are so many pupils making demands on the teacher. The standard school system in Australia is also not set up to allow teachers and children to communicate with each other effectively, and this can mean that young children are being left behind. One alternative to this method of educating your children is to use a faith-based college, which will have a smaller number of pupils per teacher, and a higher number of education based principles.
Teaching lifelong skills and qualities
One of the reasons why many parents turn to faith-based Lutheran colleges in order to educate their children is that they believe that these schools can give their students better care and attention. Rather than simply focus on learning the basics, faith-based schools tend to also focus on developing the character of their students, so that they learn qualities that will help them to move into adulthood. Giving their students a set of values helps them to move forward into work situations or into their home life. Without the skills of being able to communicate effectively with others, of being educated and sincere, as well as dedicated to serving their communities in any way possible, students can struggle to negotiate the transition from childhood into responsible adults.
Being part of society
An important part of the role of Lutheran colleges in bringing up their students is to help them to integrate fully into their community, and into the wider society as a whole. For example, there might be an emphasis on finding justice within their community, or having compassion for those around them who are less fortunate. Schooling can also teach them to be brave and upstanding when it comes to defending their community and negotiating with others in order to achieve the best outcome. All of these skills will help them when it comes to adulthood, and will ensure that they are able to give everything possible to their society. Developing them into hard-working, charitable and loving members of their community will help them to be appreciated and to do well for themselves and others.
